1. INTRODUCTION

Dawn Cultural & Educational Charitable Association, Kuala Lumpur (3963-11-WKL) (“Dawn or the Association”) was registered on 2 September 2011.  It is a charitable Association which focuses on promoting positive culture and encouraging equitable education for all races.

The seed of the Dawn was planted 22 years ago with the birth of the Persatuan Pengajian Agama ChiHui Tang Kuala Lumpur ('ChiHui Tang") which has the vision to extend its contribution beyond the role of a religious organisation to include folstering a harnomious and peaceful society for all human beings via Educational and cultural awareness efforts.  With the supports from many who share the same vision, the seed germinated and the organisation has over the years successfully implemented more than 300 social and charity activities within Malaysia and across the border to Taiwan, Sri Lanka, Myanmar and Macau, just to name a few locations.    Notable activities to be mentioned are the various large scale religion conferences, mid-autumn festival street processions, children holiday learning camps and relief works/medical missions in Sri Lanka and Myanmar planned and implemented by the organisation.

After two decades, the members of ChiHui Tang trust that the time is ripe to institutionalise our efforts into a base to extend beyond Malaysia in a more structural and impactful manner.  This would enable it to continue the mission of undertaking charity work and educational development locally and abroad to reach out to more people who are in need, as well as to attract those who are willing to lend a helping hand for the future.  The Association has a close alliance with Dawn Cultural & Educational Association registered in Macau and expects to jointly implement/host various social and charity events.
